More Cassatt and American Women Artists - A Lecture by the Great Linda Nochlin

http://www.3pipe.net/ 's blogger H. Niyazi, just commented on my Mary Cassatt post and reminded me that he also included a wonderful lecture by the great Art Historian Linda Nochlin about American Women artists. She talks about Cassatt and her works in detail and representing domesticity, the family and the work of homemaking. She starts by a comparison of Mary Cassatt's Lady at the Tea Table, and Lilly Martin-Spencer's Kiss Me and You'll Kiss the Lasses and goes on to talk about more paintings including the ones I wrote about here.  You can reach the Smithsonian lecture from the link below.
